RaisedRecentChange

Sometimes, you want to write something on one wiki, but tell people about it on another.

The idea here is to allow people to contribute directly into the RecentChanges timeline.

Suppose you love old cars. You find the old cars wiki, and write an entry about some fancy old car. (If someone reading this knows of one, please feel free to replace “some fancy old car” with the name of an actual fancy old car.) However, there’s another wiki, a social wiki, say, for you and your close friends. You all really like this car, so you want to tell them about it.

There are many ways to do this. You could:

“Raised RecentChanges” is a mechanism for contributing directly into RecentChanges.

You add an entry for OldCarsWiki:SomeFancyOldCar.

Possibilities

Automated Raise

You could make it so that when you make an edit to one wiki, there’s a way to raise the change to several other wiki as well. If you feel a change is relevant to many wiki, you can just enter their names, and MachineServices will be worked to inform them all.

Easy to Remove

You could make it so that if a change is raised, and someone doesn’t like it, they can just dismiss it.

Raised Changes aren’t necessarily important or critical. It’s not an essential part of the CommunityWiki:PageDatabase. It’s ephemeral- just a note.
