WikiFeatures: RatedMembers

Members acquire ratings from other members.

Possibilities

Positive and negative rating points to other members.
Each member could have a “rating budget” of points to allocate.
A member’s rating budgets could be static (you must un-rate some items in order to rate others), or they could “recharge” over time
The size or the weight of members’ rating budgets could depend upon their own rating
The rating budget could also be used for rating items other than members (see RatedPages for example)
Rather than use the rating information to rank each member on a 1-dimensional scale (from “witty and brilliant” to “spammer”), we could use the same rating information to cluster people on a 2 dimensional map. I imagine that there is not a lot of overlap in the people who discuss Lovie Smith, the people who listen to Warren Buffett, and the people who hang on every word from Donald Knuth.
