RatingsGroups

Allow users to form multiple groups for the purpose of rating content on the wiki. Each piece of content may then be associated with multiple ratings.

Possibilities

Along the lines of OneBigSoup and ModularWiki, one way to do this would be to have it almost totally separate from the core of the WikiEngine. The Ratings Groups could separately compile their ratings however they choose, and publish them in some standard format. A RatedChangeCollector could then consume the groups’ ratings and create and aggregate ratings database, allowing other programs to query the database. Another program could keep user profiles specifying filtering criteria. Users could poll this last program for FilteredRecentChanges rather than looking at the WikiEngine’s RecentChanges.

However, it might be nice to integrate controls for rating a page into the wiki pages.

Activity

BayleShanks plans to work on this. In fact, he sees what he is doing now (WikiGateway) as a technical prerequisite for doing this in a modular, general way.
